Respecting copyright & intellectual property

CoreSignal (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our editors, contributors, partners, and users to do the same. We are committed to complying with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and applicable copyright laws.

If you believe that content published on CoreSignal infringes your copyright, you may submit a copyright infringement notice using the process described below, and we will respond promptly and in accordance with this policy.

Scope of this policy

CoreSignal operates from India and is not subject to United States jurisdiction. However, we voluntarily follow a notice-and-takedown process modelled on the DMCA because it provides a clear, well-established standard for addressing copyright complaints. This policy operates alongside, and does not replace, any rights available to copyright owners under the Indian Copyright Act, 1957, or other applicable law.

Our commitment

CoreSignal makes every reasonable effort to ensure that the content we publish is:

• Original content created by our editorial team.
• Used with permission from the copyright owner.
• Properly licensed for use on our platform.
• Used in accordance with applicable copyright laws and fair dealing/fair use principles, where applicable.

If we discover that copyrighted material has been published without appropriate authorization, we will investigate the matter promptly and take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to the material.

Filing a copyright infringement notice

If you are the copyright owner, or are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner, and believe in good faith that your copyrighted work has been used on CoreSignal without permission, please send us a written notice that includes the following information:

1. Your full legal name, and, if applicable, the name of the copyright owner you represent.
2. Your contact information, including a valid email address and, where possible, a mailing address or phone number.
3. A description of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed.
4. The exact URL(s) of the CoreSignal page(s) containing the allegedly infringing material.
5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the copyright owner’s behalf.
7. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.

Notices that are missing required information may be delayed while we request clarification.

Our review and takedown process

Upon receiving a complete and valid copyright notice, we will generally:

1. Review the reported content and the supporting information provided.
2. Where necessary, contact the complainant for additional clarification.
3. Remove or disable access to the material we determine, in our reasonable judgment, to be infringing.
4. Notify the person who posted or is responsible for the content, where applicable, that it has been removed and why.

We aim to act on legitimate, complete copyright notices as promptly as reasonably possible, typically within a few business days.

Counter-notification

If material you posted was removed or disabled following a copyright complaint and you believe the removal was made in error or that your use of the material was lawful, you may submit a counter-notification including:

• Your name, address, phone number, and email address.
• Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
• A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the courts in your judicial district, and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original complaint.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

Each counter-notification is reviewed carefully before a final decision is made regarding restoration of the content.

Repeat infringer policy

CoreSignal maintains a policy of removing or disabling access to material from contributors who are found, in appropriate circumstances, to be repeat infringers of copyright, and of terminating the contributor relationship of any user or contributor who repeatedly infringes the copyrights of others.

Good faith requirement

Copyright complaints and counter-notifications should be submitted only when there is a genuine, good faith belief that the claim is accurate. Knowingly submitting a false or misleading copyright notice or counter-notification may expose the sender to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees, under applicable law.

Limitation

Submitting a copyright complaint does not automatically result in the removal of content. Every notice is independently reviewed to ensure that copyright law, fair dealing/fair use principles, and the rights of all parties are appropriately considered before any action is taken. CoreSignal reserves the right to decline to act on a notice that is incomplete, unsubstantiated, or does not meet the requirements set out in this policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this DMCA Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The “Effective date” at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
