Disability Pension in West Bengal: IGNDPS, Manabik Pension and the UDID Question

The scheme is for Below Poverty Line families and covers severe or multiple disabilities. The PIB document gives no percentage. A 2023 article states 80% or more, and adds that Aadhaar and a state disability certificate are needed. The threshold in current NSAP guidelines was not confirmed.

02Manabik Pension (State)

The Manabik pension for persons with disabilities was ₹1,000 a month before August 2026.

The 2026 rise is reported, not seen in an order. News reports of July and September 2026 say West Bengal raised old-age, widow and disability pensions from ₹1,000 to ₹1,500 a month from 1 August 2026, credited by direct bank transfer. No Government Order text was found. A further rise to ₹2,000 in phases was also reported in August 2026, with no date, and the September reports mention only ₹1,500.

The source for these points is a private aggregator that also words the income limit in contradictory ways. An older district page says Manabik was merged with the earlier state disability pension scheme.

04With Annapurna Bhandar

Reports say women with disabilities aged 25 to 60 can receive the disability pension together with Annapurna Bhandar’s ₹3,000, about ₹4,500 in all, and that about 1.24 lakh women had been identified. Wrongly obtained disability benefits are being removed.

06How to Apply

  1. Collect the form from the BDO, SDO or the Kolkata Municipal Commissioner’s office.
  2. Submit it with the documents. Verification and approval follow.
  3. Track the application under the Manabik scheme on the state portal.
The previous government’s waiting list was reported cancelled on 7 September 2026, with a fresh list to be prepared. Jan Kalyan Camp registrants are to be verified first, and fresh applications are expected at camps in “late November or December”. Existing beneficiary rolls are also being checked, and about 50,000 names were reported to be removed as ineligible.

07UDID Card

The Swavlamban portal could not be opened, and no source confirmed whether UDID is required for Manabik in West Bengal or whether any rule changed in 2026. The block office can say which certificate is accepted.
