Digital Marksheets and Certificates: DigiLocker, ABC, APAAR and Duplicate Copies

Where board marksheets and degrees can be downloaded, what the Academic Bank of Credits and APAAR do, and how to apply for a duplicate from WBBSE or WBCHSE.

01DigiLocker

DigiLocker (digilocker.gov.in) stores marksheets and degree certificates, and lets users share and verify them. Support is available at support.digilocker.gov.in.

For West Bengal board results, news reports describe this route: DigiLocker, Issued Documents, Education, the board name (WBBSE or WBCHSE), then roll number and exam year. The Madhyamik result of 2026 came out on 8 May and the higher secondary result on 14 May.

Online marksheets released with results are provisional. Original marksheets are issued later through schools. Whether DigiLocker holds a permanent verified marksheet for every earlier year was not confirmed on a board page.

02Technical and Vocational Courses

No information on digital marksheets or DigiLocker was found for the West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development.

03Duplicate Copies: WBBSE

  • Form WBBSE/01 covers a duplicate certificate, marksheet, admit card or registration certificate.
  • Submit at a regional office (Kolkata, Burdwan, Midnapore or North Bengal) with the forwarding signature of the head of the institution or a gazetted officer.
  • Fee of ₹300 per document by challan. Documents are ready after 15 working days and are collected, not posted.
  • A police report is needed if the document was lost or stolen, along with attested Aadhaar or Voter ID.
An older Board notice from 2014 lists ₹100. The form’s ₹300 appears newer, but the form carries no visible date.

04Duplicate Copies: WBCHSE

A WBCHSE fee notice effective 2 January 2023 sets ₹200 per duplicate document, ₹1,000 for a duplicate migration certificate in 2 working days, and ₹200 per student for verification (₹500 for employment purposes). A current application procedure was not found.

05ABC, APAAR and NAD

  • Academic Bank of Credits (ABC): stores and transfers credits, valid for 7 years.
  • APAAR: a 12-digit student ID. A July 2026 government document reports 26.35 crore generated by 2 July 2026.
  • National Academic Depository (NAD): stores academic awards and is integrated with DigiLocker.
  • Higher education institutions were to upload credit data for all 2025 examinations by 30 June 2026, and 2,899 institutions are registered.
